Twitter Suspends Trump-Supporting Account Hours After Trump Retweets It

Twitter suspended the account for violating its rules

Just hours after President Donald Trump retweeted a graphic from an anonymous supporter calling Democrats “the true enemies of America,” Twitter on Tuesday suspended the account for what it called violations of Twitter’s rules.

A Twitter representative did not immediately return TheWrap’s request for comment but a spokesperson for the social media giant told the Daily Beast that the account was suspended for violating a rule against using multiple accounts to artificially amplify or disrupt conversations.

The account in question, LYNNTHO06607841, used the screen name “Lynn Thomas” and posted conservative, pro-Trump content.

According to Vox reporter Aaron Rupar, who got a screenshot, the account also posted false and libelous accusations that the Clintons tortured and killed children to consume secretions from their pineal glands.

Twitter has been a flashpoint for conservatives online in recent months who have criticized social media companies of “silencing” non-liberal voices on their services.

While the company has retooled its policies, banning “dehumanizing language” among other things, it’s run into repeated accusations of political bias which its executives have repeatedly denied.
