WE tv is keeping things classy with its latest project.
The network has given a pilot to a new one-hour project called “Sex Box,” but don’t worry, it’s not what you’re thinking — it’s actually much more tawdry than that.

The pilot, based on the UK show of the same name, will feature real couples whose relationships are on the rocks having sex in a soundproof box. Then they’ll talk about their issues with a panel of experts.
Because nothing heals a relationship that’s on the road to Splitsville faster than throwing the couple in an enclosed space, having them copulate on demand, and then make them air their dirty laundry in front of a bunch of strangers.
Anyway, WE tv — which earlier brought the world “Bridezillas” and “Marriage Boot Camp” — insists that the “in the moment” approach of the pilot “fosters conversations about intimacy that are completely filterless and emotionally honest.”

“‘Sex Box’ is an intriguing and original concept from a top production partner and we’re very excited about its potential, which has already been clearly demonstrated overseas – where it’s a hit,” WE tv president Marc Juris said of the pilot.
