Turner picked up the off-network cable rights to "The Cleveland Show," TheWrap has confirmed.
Episodes of the Fox cartoon comedy will air on TBS and as part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.
Created by Seth MacFarlane, "The Cleveland Show" is a spinoff of Fox's animated hit "Family Guy," which has enjoyed successful runs on TBS and Cartoon Network.
Turner paid approximately $500,000 an episode, according to Variety, which first reported the deal.
Turner has been throwing a lot of cash around lately to beef up the TBS lineup. In March, Turner raised eyebrows by plunking down about $1.5 million an episode for exclusive cable rights to CBS' "The Big Bang Theory."
Officials close to the network also say Turner put down a large bid for the rights to ABC's "Modern Family," but that it wasn't enough to snag the show. "Modern Family" went to the USA Network on June 29. USA reportedly paid around $1.4 million an episode for the rights to the hit sitcom.
