Fox News host Tucker Carlson had a heated interview with filmmaker Josh Fox about climate change on Tuesday night, comparing him to “every Hollywood dopey guy invoking science.”
The “Gasland” director dismissed Carlson’s claims that some scientists want humans to stop having children in order to help climate change.
“I think that’s a bit of a misrepresentation,” Fox said, explaining that fewer children will help the environment.
Carlson then asked Fox if he’s willing to tell residents of Africa they have too many kids, since that is where most of the countries with high birth rates are currently located. Fox didn’t agree and said that first world nations have children that are responsible for more carbon emissions than Africa.
Carlson and Fox argued and the filmmaker eventually asked, “Do you understand the science on climate change?”
Fox then said science would indicate that Carlson has a brain. “I haven’t seen it,” he said.
Carlson literally laughed at Fox and fired back, “I love being lectured about science by some filmmaker.”
Fox didn’t let up, repeatedly interrupting the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host and asking if he understands science.
“What’s in your medicine cabinet?” Carlson asked. “I’m ending this interview because you’re too obnoxious to talk to.”
The two argued and spoke over each other for a few more seconds until Carlson said it was “too stupid” and would bring it to a close.
“You’re moralizing like every Hollywood dopey guy invoking science,” Carlson said.
Fox is an American film director, playwright and environmental activist, best known for his Oscar-nominated 2010 fracking documentary, “Gasland.”
