Tucker Carlson Mocks Oscars Chaos: ‘It Couldn’t Happen to Better People’ (Video)

“Finally something interesting happens at one of these dumb award shows”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted the Academy Awards for the chaos at the end of Sunday’s event, saying, “It couldn’t happen to better people.”

“Well, finally something interesting happens at one of these dumb award shows,” Carlson said on Monday morning on “Fox & Friends,” referring to “La La Land” being mistakenly announced as the Best Picture award winner instead of “Moonlight.”

The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host continued: “And you knew it had to happen, because ‘Moonlight’ had to win. That’s the law; there was really no way around that. This was a foregone conclusion, because it’s not just a good movie, it’s an important movie. It’s a movie that instructs you, that changes you morally. And that’s kind of the aim of Hollywood, is not just to entertain, but to instruct.”

The Fox News morning show then played the clip of Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway opening the wrong envelope during the biggest moment of the Oscars and Carlson giggled as they cut back to him.

“Fox & Friends” then read an email from a fan that said, “And the winner is Hillary Clinton! Opps. This goof is nothing new for Democrats.”

Carlson joked, “That’s pretty good,” before teasing that it might have been a Russian attack.

Carlson called the situation “delightfully uncomfortable” and said he could watch it “forever.” This isn’t Carlson’s first time making fun of Hollywood. Last year, he told TheWrap that Hollywood liberals are “lacking all self awareness” and it’s going to eventually ruin the movie industry.

“They can’t accept the election results for the same reason their business model is crumbling, and Hollywood won’t exist in its present form in 20 years,” Carlson said. “Hollywood is going out of business because they don’t understand the country they are selling a product to. They’re completely out of touch because they’re rich and entitled.”
