TruTV has been working behind the scenes on its new rebranding, which ditches serious and reaches toward providing a new “way more fun” feel on the cable channel.
Set to launch on Oct. 27, TheWrap has a first look at truTV’s new take on programming via its new sizzle reel.
“As you may know, over the past year we’ve been working on reinvigorating our network from the ground up,” truTV president and head of programming, Chris Linn, said in a note to press. “As a result, truTV is about to get way more fun!”

The network’s new mission is to deliver the fun to its new target audience: both men and women with a median age in the mid-30s. Its upcoming lineup delivers “content that is innovative and authentic and with a tone that’s more comedic,” Linn added.
The programming includes the return of “The Carbonaro Effect,” and four new fall shows: sketch comedy show “Friends of the People,” performance competition series “Fake Off,” game show “Hair Jacked,” and “How to Be a Grownup,” a comedic look at the challenges of reaching your 30s.
Beyond the fall, truTV has two other series in the pipeline: “Branson Famous,” TV’s first reality musical, and “Breaking Greenville,” a comedic reality series documenting the rivalry between two small-town TV stations.

There will also be changes to the channel’s on-air look and the design of its website, truTV.com.
“The brand and programming evolution is all about delivering a more innovative, surprising and engaging experience that leaves you feeling good, and this is just the beginning,” said Linn.
