Though Donald Trump and his allies condemned the questions Robert Mueller wants to ask the president, “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah thinks Trump should be grateful they were leaked.
“I actually find this mind-blowing, because this is the world’s easiest open-book test,” Noah said on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Daily Show.”
Noah referenced people like Fox News host Sean Hannity who called the questions a form of entrapment and urged Trump not to answer them. “What I find amazing about this is everyone is telling Trump he shouldn’t sit down with Robert Mueller,” Noah said. “Why? If he’s innocent, just go answer the questions.”
“Now I know some people are saying, ‘No, Trevor, Mueller is clearly trying to trap Trump, that’s what he’s trying to do, he’s trying to trap him!’ What trap? He’s giving Trump the questions ahead of time. That’s not a trap.”
Noah added: “Trump can practice his answers. He can tattoo them on himself like ‘Memento’… Hell, if it helps, he can memorize his answers in song form.”
Noah then sang, “I did not protect Michael Flynn and I never met Putin” to the tune of “Ode to Joy” from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
