“Trailer Park Boys” star Michael Smith is starting his weekend off on a positive note.
Smith, known for playing Bubbles on the mockumentary series, is off the hook in a domestic battery case against him, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney told TheWrap on Friday.
The case was dropped due to insufficient evidence, the city attorney spokesman said.
Police responding to a domestic battery call came to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel around 1:15 a.m. on April 1, Officer Mike Lopez told the Los Angeles Times. They arrested Smith and booked him on suspicion of domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
Smith (pictured above center) denied the allegations the following day, and Georgia Ling, the woman involved in the alleged incident, said in a statement that she and the “Trailer Park Boys” actor did “indeed have a heavy argument, but it saddens me the way things are being reported and the way it was handled by the police.”
Smith added, “At no point did I feel I was in danger, otherwise I would’ve called the police myself, which I did not.”
For his part, Smith said in his statement, “Georgia is a friend of mine and we had a loud and heated dispute. That is all. At no time did I assault her. I am not guilty of the misdemeanor charged against me.”
