Town & Country issued an apology Thursday morning to Monica Lewinsky after it uninvited her from a party to spare Bill Clinton, who was also attending, from her presence.
“We apologize to Ms. Lewinsky and regret the way the situation was handled,” said the magazine.

Lewinsky had been invited to attend the magazine’s annual philanthropic summit on Wednesday but was removed from the guest list by magazine officials after they realized the former president would also be in attendance.
The ex-White House intern, who famously had an affair with Clinton in the 1990s, launched a series of cryptic tweets Wednesday over the issue which now appears to be directed at Town & Country. News of the snub was first reported by HuffPost.
“Dear world: Please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and –then after i’ve accepted– uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited. It’s 2018. Emily Post would def not approve,” she said.
The former White House intern also accused the magazine of offering her an article as a consolation prize, which she was unimpressed by.
“P.S. …and definitely, please don’t try to ameliorate the situation by insulting me with an offer of an article in your mag,” she added.
