On America’s birthday, grown men raced bicycles in France.
One guy won’t be participating any longer in the 2017 Tour de France, however, after being disqualified for causing a rough crash. World champion Peter Sagan got disqualified from the Tour for cutting across Mark Cavendish’s racing line, nudging the Manx sprinter over with an elbow. Cavendish hit the Stage 4 side barrier — hard.
Sagan had actually won Stage 3 and elbowed his way to close as Stage 4’s runner-up — but that’s as far as his bike will go this year. Watch the video above.
As for Sagan, well, he doesn’t think he did anything wrong. Bicyclists, am I right?
