The Weinstein Company (TWC) has picked up a slew of rights to the French comedy “On the Other Side of the Tracks,” the sales company Other Angle announced in Toronto on Friday.
According to Other Angle, TWC has taken North American, Latin American and also rights for China to the film. Omar Sys stars in director David Charhon’s feature about a streetwise policeman working in a down-trodden Parisian suburb who is called on to resolve a murder case.

The film has reportedly sold to a number of territories, including Benelux (Victory), Italy (Medusa), Spain (Vertigo), Switzerland (Frenetic), Poland (Gutek), Hungary (MTVA), Greece (Village), Portugal (Pris), Turkey (Calinos), Germany (Senator) and Israel (Nachshon).
Sy is represented by UTA and reportedly recently moved to Hollywood following the success of his film, “The Intouchables,” which TWC released successfully in the U.S.
