Tori Spelling might soon be calling ABC’s daytime lineup home sweet home.
According to the LA Times’ Company Town blog, the "90210" start-turned-reality veteran is developing a daytime talk show for the network. It would be a sort of "Regis and Kelly" chatfest–only younger-skewing, the Times said.
Spelling is currently a hot commodity for Oxygen, headlining the network’s "Home Sweet Hollywood." The show’s been a success, but with Oxygen having even bigger success with its newer shows, it’s not hard to see Tori’s Oxygen supply running low in the next one or two years.
As the Times also points out, ABC might need to get rid of an existing soap opera to make room for another series. There’s also the syndication option, which seems more logical to us. No offense, but unless she’s paired with a more established male co-host, Spelling probably doesn’t have the chops to headline her own show for a broadcast network. (Unless, of course, the CW decided to launch a daytime talk show — unlikely given the lackluster ratings for "Tyra".
