Tony Danza is returning to TV comedy. The former “Taxi” and “Who’s the Boss?” star has been cast as a lead in NBC’s comedy pilot “Sebastian,” TheWrap has learned.

The family comedy stars Sebastian Maniscalco as a man whose old-school values, instilled by his opinionated Italian father (Danza) are constantly put to the test by his new wife, her family and the absurdities of the modern world.

The casting marks a return to NBC for Danza, who previously starred on “Taxi” on the network.

“Sebastian” comes from “My Name Is Earl” and “Raising Hope” creator Greg Garcia, and it is written by Austen Earl. Director Scott Ellis will executive produce with Garcia and Earl.

Maniscalco, Judy Brown-Marmel, Norman Aladjem and Alix Jaffe will co-executive produce the pilot from CBS Television Studios in association with Garcia’s Amingos de Garcia Productions.
