Friday’s ‘Tonight Show’ Canceled Due to Jimmy Fallon ‘Private Family Matter’

Fallon’s mother is sick in the hospital, TheWrap learns

The “Tonight Show” won’t go on tonight — at least not a new one. Friday’s taping of Jimmy Fallon’s late-night program has been canceled due to “a private Fallon family matter,” NBC told TheWrap in a statement.

A source close to the situation told TheWrap Fallon’s mother is currently ill and in the hospital and that the “Tonight” host has joined the rest of his family to be by her side.

As of now, no production changes have been scheduled for next week, the individual told TheWrap.

Tonight, a repeat from September, which featured guests Madonna and Camila Cabello, will air in the canceled episode’s place. Friday’s scheduled guests were Saoirse Ronan, Julian Edelman, Clive Davis and Wiz Khalifa featuring Ty Dolla $ign.

Fallon’s Thursday night episode aired as planned, with guests including Alec Baldwin and “Stranger Things” stars Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Houston Astros second baseman José Altuve and musical guest Elbow.
