Tobey Maguire and Others Sued for Being Too Good at Poker

“Spider-Man” actor sued for allegedly cleaning out a swindler in high-stakes poker ring that also allegedly included Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

Tobey Maguire might be a little too sharp of a card player.

Star Magazine, in a preview story posted at Radar Online, reports that the former "Spider-Man" star has been slapped with a lawsuit by the trust of incarcerated hedge-fund manager Bradley Ruderman, who says that he lost more than $300,000 to Maguire in high-stakes poker games at ritzy Los Angeles locales such as the Four Seasons and Peninsula hotels between 2007 and 2008.

Ruderman is currently in prison for running a Ponzi scheme in which numerous clients of his were defrauded — a scheme that he hatched, at least in part, to pay off his gambling debts to Maguire and others, according to the suit.
