TNT greenlit two new non-fiction series on Wednesday, in addition to the Turner drama network announcing it will hand Ridley Scott (pictured above) an entire night for some sci-fi programming.
Initial plans for the evening from the guy behind “The Martian” are for it to serve as a showcase for hour-long series and short-form programs, among other formats.
Here are TNT’s new docuseries:
- “Michael Moore Live from the Apocalypse” from Oscar and Emmy winner Michael Moore
- “Who Run the World?” from Sarah Jessica Parker, Morgan Spurlock and Refinery29
On the development front, the “Last Ship” home has ordered a pilot for “Highland,” a scripted drama written by Liz Sarnoff and starring actress-comedian Margaret Cho.
TNT also revealed this morning that Daveed Diggs, who earned a Tony for the Broadway hit “Hamilton,” will star in the network’s drama pilot “Snowpiercer,” which will be directed by “Doctor Strange’s” Scott Derrickson.
