‘Timeless’: See Abigail Spencer’s 10-Tweet Reaction to Surprise Un-Cancellation

“Timeless” star Abigail Spencer could not contain her excitement after the NBC show was renewed Friday although it was initially cancelled earlier this week.

The actress went on a 10-tweet Twitter spree to thank the fans for the outpouring support, as well as NBC and Sony for giving the show another chance.

“I have never seen a show be cancelled & but days later renewed because of just general love from the people involved & the fans,” she tweeted Saturday afternoon. “Everyone knows is my favorite show ever. I just can’t believe I get to be a part of a story too!!! The BEST kind.”

After canceling the time-travel drama on Wednesday, NBC had a change of heart. It certainly didn’t hurt that fans loudly vocalized their disappointment with the initial decision: “Timeless” was the top pick in USA Today’s “Save Our Shows” poll.

The series, also starring Matt Lanter and Sakina Jaffrey, centers around a mysterious criminal who steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past.

The nation’s only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who must use the machine’s prototype to travel back in time to preserve critical events. While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive.

Earlier on Saturday, Lanter, Jaffrey and the show’s co-creators were among many fans tweeting about the surprise un-cancellation. The show was the number one trend on Twitter following the announcement.
