Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence early Monday morning, police said.
The arrest occurred around 7 a.m. on Monday morning in Jupiter, Florida. He was released a few hours later under his own recognizance, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Woods, 41, last competed on the PGA Tour in February. In April, he announced that he would not compete in the Masters tournament and put his career on hold for surgery to alleviate back pain, his fourth surgery in the past three years.
The arrest is the latest in a series of woes for Woods that date back to Thanksgiving weekend in 2009, when Woods was involved in a car crash just outside of his home just two days after a National Enquirer report published a story about the golfer being in an extramarital affair.
After the crash, several more women claimed to have had affairs with Woods. Woods admitted infidelity and he and his wife, Elin Nordegren, divorced in August 2010.
