“Silicon Valley” star Thomas Middleditch will play the lead role in Chuck Lorre’s latest comedy pilot for CBS “B Positive.”
The project centers on Drew (Middleditch), a newly divorced dad who is faced with finding a kidney donor. At the end of his rope, he runs into Gina (Annaleigh Ashford), a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past who volunteers her own. Together they form an unlikely bond and begin a journey that will change both of their lives.
Middleditch’s Drew is a therapist who makes his living trying to fix other people’s problems. Educated, bookish, and neurotic, he lacks social skills and isn’t much of a people person.
The cast also includes Sara Rue as Drew’s ex-wife Julia, and “You’re the Worst” alum Kether Donohue as Leanne. “B Positive” is from Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Marco Pennette will write the pilot.
Middleditch is coming off his six-season run on HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” where he played the lead character of Richard Hendricks. He also appeared in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and Zombieland: Double Tap.” His most recent project, “Middleditch & Schwartz,” a two-man improv comedy show, has been selling out live shows across the country.
Middleditch is repped by WME, Kirsten Ames Management, and attorney Isaac Dunham.
