‘The X-Files’ New Trailer: Mulder Tells Scully ‘I Can’t Do This Alone’ (Video)

Fox limited series reboot starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson premieres Jan. 24

Fox premiered a new two-part teaser for its upcoming “X-Files” reboot during Monday night’s episodes of “Gotham” and “Minority Report.”

The reboot will see original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as FBI investigators Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively. It will premiere Jan. 24, 2016.

In the new teaser, Mulder reaches out to Scully for help with his own personal investigation.

“In 2002 the investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not,” he says in a voice over. “Our work is the key to everything. I can’t do this alone.”

The series follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny) as they investigate unexplained cases – dubbed “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

During its initial nine-season run, “The X Files” became one of the most successful television dramas of all time, hitting a peak ratings high in 1997 when more than 27 million people tuned in to the Season 5 premiere. The show earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award.
