“The Witcher” Season 2 is here, and with it comes a bevy of colorful fantasy characters. The second season of the Netflix series continues the story of Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, now united with Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) all while Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) is presumed dead following her massive display of magic.
Season 2 plays out in linear fashion, much to the delight of fans no doubt, but there are still a number of characters both returning and new that may feel somewhat unfamiliar to those trying to keep up with the series. Below, we’ve put together a “Witcher” Season 2 Cast and Character Guide to help you keep straight who’s who in this vast universe.

Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia
Henry Cavill plays the lead role of Geralt of Rivia, a magically enhanced monster hunter who, in Season 2, has claimed his “child surprise” and now serves as warden of Princess Cirilla. She is his destiny, and he takes her to the Witchers’ home of Kaer Morhen.
Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla aka “Ciri”
Freya Allan plays Princess Cirilla who is now united with Geralt and is uncovering dangerous powers of her own as Geralt and his fellow witchers train her to take care of herself.
Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg
Yennefer of Vengerberg is a sorceress with elf heritage who is thought dead by Geralt after exploding a ball of fire and saving allies from invading Nilfgardian forces at the end of Season 1.
Kim Bodnia as Vesemir
Kim Bodnia, best known for his role on “Killing Eve,” fills the role of Vesemir who turned Geralt into a Witcher as a young boy and serves as mentor and keeper of Kaer Morhen.
Eamon Farren as Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach
A primary antagonist in Season 1, the Nilfgardian intelligence officer known as Cahir is now imprisoned in Season 2.
Joey Batey as Jaskier
Jaskier is a traveling bard who accompanies Geralt on his journeys and is best known for writing and performing the absolute banger that is “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher.”
MyAnna Buring as Tissaia de Vries
Tissaia de Vries helped raise and mentor Yennefer as the Rectoress of Aretuza, where young sorceresses are trained.
Royce Pierreson as Istredd
Istredd is a young sorcerer who befriended and fell in love with Yennefer before she met Geralt.
Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold
Triss Merigold is a sorceress who trained alongside Yennefer and is an old friend of Geralt’s.
Mimi M. Khayisa as Fringilla Vigo
Fringilla is a sorceress who trained with Yennefer but eventually aligned herself with the Nilfgaardian army.
Mecia Simson as Francesca Findabair
Francesca, introduced in Season 2, is an elven sorceress and the queen of the Elves.
Tom Canton as Filavandrel
Filavandrel is former leader of the elves who now defers to Francesca.
Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara
Dara is a young elven boy who befriended Cirilla after she left Cintra but abandoned her when she murdered the doppelgänger.
