“The White Lotus” Season 3 has grown its audience rapidly, with its second episode already up 40% from the premiere.
Episode 2, which debuted on Sunday, Feb. 23, brought in 3.4 million viewers across HBO and Max, according to Nielsen figures and internal streaming data from Warner Bros. Discovery. That’s up 40% from the Season 3 premiere, which opened to an audience of 2.4 million cross-platform viewers last week.
The third installment of Mike White’s anthology series, which brings viewers to Thailand, has already seen significant growth from its previous two seasons, with viewership for its Season 3 premiere up 57% from the Season 2 premiere as well as up a whopping 155% from the series premiere in July 2021.
A week after the latest premiere, which debuted on Feb. 16, the Season 3 opener has amassed over 10.2 million viewers in the U.S. — up 92% from the 5.3 million viewers the Season 2 premiere grew within the same amount of time.
Globally, the Season 3 premiere has more than doubled viewership when compared to Season 2 viewing during the same amount of time. “The White Lotus” now ranks as the second largest returning original season in Max history, behind “House of the Dragon” Season 2.
On Max alone, “The White Lotus” ranks as the No. 1 most-watched title last week, both in the U.S. and globally.
With viewership for Season 3 already climbing, it’s possible this installment could potentially score a new series-high viewership record, which is currently held down by the Season 2 finale, which scored 4.1 million viewers as the central mystery of Season 2 was uncovered.
Season 3 brings back Natasha Rothwell, who reprises her role as Belinda from Season 1, as well as Jon Gries, who reprises his role as Greg from Season 2. Additional cast for Season 3 also includes Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Lisa Manobal, among others.
