Note: This story contains spoilers from “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5.
While some viewers found the first four episodes of “The White Lotus” Season 3 on the slower side, Mike White’s anthology series ramped up with an explosive Episode 5, that took the season exactly where some fans were thinking.
After much of the guests spent their day on Greg/Gary’s yacht in Episode 4, Episode 5 sees the group filter off, with brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) heading to the full moon party with Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) and Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon), whose boyfriends have both chosen not to join in on the festivities.
After a fair amount of drinking and some drugs — which some fans found reminiscent of HBO’s “Euphoria” — the group took turns kissing each other — including brothers Saxon and Lochlan, sending social media into a frenzy.
“We all called the Saxon and Lochlan kiss happening in episode one and yet it still was surprising,” one fan wrote, while another wrote, “the incest is actually happening.”
Many fans noted that Lochlan, a.k.a “the little one was a LITTLE too into that kiss,” with one fan writing, “it’s the way the little brother was so down with the dare and the big one was like ‘wait what just happened?’”
Somehow, the brothers’ kiss wasn’t the craziest part of Episode 5, with Sam Rockwell (Leslie Bibb’s real-life partner) appearing as a guest star opposite Walton Goggins’ Rick as he delivers a, shall we say, out there monologue that left fans speechless.
Meanwhile, Jason Isaacs’ Timothy also spiraled further, this time contemplating ending his own life, leading fans to feel for Parker Posey’s Victoria and Sarah Catherine Hook’s Piper.
And, back at the White Lotus Thailand resort, the trio made up of Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb and Michelle Monaghan had their own shenanigans, which ended with Jaclyn (Monaghan) hooking up with Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius) despite encouraging Laurie (Coon) to make a move on him.
Altogether, fans seemed to be pleased with the episode that left them on the edge of their seats.
