As fallout continues from Trump Administration officials accidentally adding The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat discussing U.S. military plans, “The View” host Sunny Hostin took a moment to look at what happened through her experience as a former federal prosecutor.

And, according to the ABC host, it’s pretty “clear” that officials such as Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth and more almost certainly lied about the incident while under oath.

In hearings on Tuesday, Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, and CIA director John Ratcliffe testified that the information discussed in the Signal chat wasn’t classified. They also both swore that “information on weapons, packages, targets or timing” were not discussed in the messages, as far as they were aware.

On Wednesday morning, that was proven false, as The Atlantic released the specific texts — because again, Trump’s officials swore they weren’t classified — showing that Hegseth himself detailed the timing of attacks, and the exact military aircraft they’d be coming from.

“It is now clear to me, at least as a former federal prosecutor, that they likely perjured themselves,” Hostin said on “The View,” as she and her co-hosts read the messages.

“You think?!” Whoopi Goldberg quickly shot back.

“There are consequences to perjury,” Hostin added.

Will Gabbard, Ratcliffe, Hegseth and the others actually face those consequences? Host Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted she wasn’t totally sure, given how President Donald Trump’s allies are spinning the whole incident.

“To the question of will this matter, I watched some of the coverage on the Right, and I’m really disappointed to see people who I know know better, and who care about the safety of our troops, dismissing this as like, ‘Oh, it was just a text thread. We all make mistakes,’” she said. “This is clear as day.”
