‘The View’ Host Candace Cameron-Bure ‘Disappointed’ With Republican Party (Video)

“I would like to see some maturity amongst the candidates and I’m not seeing that within our party,” right-leaning co-host says

“The View” co-host Candace Cameron-Bure expressed her sadness at the current state of the Republican presidential race on Tuesday.

“You know with Kasich and Cruz, they’re teaming up and it’s not going well,” Cameron-Bure said of Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. “I’m like, of course it’s not going well because everybody’s out for themselves, not for the country. You’re interested in yourself more than the vote for the delegates and I’m disappointed in my party…I would like to see some maturity amongst the candidates and I’m not seeing that within our party.”

“I have to tell you I’m disappointed in your party, too,” fellow “View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg chimed in. “I’m disappointed and I don’t say that to be funny. Listen, my family took time out and fought for their safety to go and vote. so voting is a big deal. To me it’s a big deal.”

The comments came during a discussion on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump mocking Kasich for the way he eats. “Here’s a short list of the important issues Republicans have argued about: hand size, steaks, spray tan, sweating and now eating habits,” Joy Behar said. “This is their platform, OK?”

Goldberg went on to say that in previous campaigns, conservatives and liberals were able to engage in civil discussions and questions of loving your country were not involved.

“Well [Trump] keeps saying we’re going to make America great again, so people think that he’s talking about the country,” Behar said. “But the fact is he gives you no specifics.”

“And America’s always been great,” Goldberg said. “We might not have always been right but we’ve always been great.”
