Ridley Scott is a busy, busy man. But don’t worry, TV fans. In between making blockbuster films he’s found a way to thrill us again with his new AMC drama “The Terror.”

The first look teaser trailer for Scott’s 10-episode series was revealed on Friday, along with the news the suspenseful show will premiere with a two-hour episode on March 26 at 9 p.m.

The new show, based on Dan Simmons’ novel (and a true story), stars Jared Harris (“The Crown”) as Captain Francis Crozier and Tobias Menzies (“Outlander”) as Captain James Fitzjames, follows the men of the Royal Navy as they set off on a quest through uncharted territory in search of the Northern Passage.

On their way they will encounter about as many problems as Odysseus faced while trying to get back from the Trojan War, including unsafe conditions, dwindling resources, wicked bad frostbite, hopelessness, and some in-house drama.

The series, shot in Budapest, also stars Ciarán Hinds (“Justice League”) as Sir John Franklin; Paul Ready (“Cuffs”) as Dr. Henry Goodsir; Adam Nagaitis (“Suffragette”) as Cornelius Hickey Nive Nielsen (“The New World”) as Lady Silence; Ian Hart (“Neverland”) as Thomas Blanky; and Trystan Gravelle (“Mr. Selfridge”) as Henry Collins.

“The Terror” is executive produced by Scott, David W. Zuker (“The Good Wife”), Alexandra Milchan (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Scott Lambert (“Jane Got a Gun”), and Guymon Casady (“Game of Thrones”).

The show is produced by Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios.
