ABC has lengthened its sentence for “The Rookie: Feds,” adding nine episodes to the spinoff series to bring its total Season 1 episode count to 22.

The Niecy Nash-starring procedural, which is based on the flagship “The Rookie,” debuted Sept. 27 and quintupled its ratings (from 0.31 to 1.53) in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic after delayed multiplatform viewing. Following a week of linear and digital viewing, its series debut picked up an additional 4 million viewers on top of Nielsen’s live plus same-day average of 2.2 million.

“The Rookie: Feds,” stars Nash as Simone Clark, the oldest rookie in the FBI. At the heart of the series is her dream to enact change within the system while taking down the nation’s toughest criminals with her colleagues Carter Hope (James Lesure), Laura Stensen (Britt Robertson), Matthew Garza (Felix Solis) and Brendon Acres (Kevin Zegers). Frankie R. Faison also stars as Christopher “Cutty” Clark.

Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter are co-creators, co-showrunners and executive producers. Mark Gordon, Michelle Chapman, Bill Norcross, Corey Miller, Michael Goi, Bibby Dunn, “The Rookie” star Nathan Fillion and Nash are executive producers. Entertainment One (eOne) is the lead studio and international distributor of “The Rookie: Feds,” a co-production with ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.

On next week’s all-new episode titled “Felicia,” airing Oct. 25 at 10 p.m. ET, Simone and Carter get trapped in the tropics while hunting down a suspect on the run. Simone’s unexpected meet-cute with Dina (Jessica Betts, Nash’s wife) throws a wrench into Cutty’s love life and Elena’s (Michelle Nuñez) high-end fashion splurge cracks open an unsolved murder mystery.
