The latest NSFW trailer for “The Predator” has been released and it’s just as violent as one would expect from the sci-fi thriller franchise.
In the two-and-a-half minute trailer, we get a tighter glimpse of the action, with a first look at the titular character, who looks just like the iconic beast that preyed on Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Shane Black back in the 1987 edition.
The previous trailer, which was released in May, showed a boy (Jacob Tremblay) and his father (Boyd Holbrook) accidentally triggering the aliens’ return to Earth. The video sees Tremblay open a box of alien artifacts that his father came back with after a very far-off expedition.
Holbrook and Sterling K. Brown feature prominently, with the former, a Special Forces soldier, being question by military types in Chattanooga over what he and his son unintentionally activated. Ultimately, it’s up to a group of Special Forces soldiers to take down the Predator, which gets violent in a hurry.
Here’s the official synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
“The Predator” is directed by Shane Black and was written by Fred Dekker and Black.
It stars the aforementioned Holbrook, Brown, Tremblay as well as Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey and Yvonne Strahovski.
“The Predator” will be released in theaters on Sept. 14 via 20th Century Fox.
