NBC has reduced the episode order for “The Player.”
The Wesley Snipes series will air only nine episodes instead of the original order of 13, ending its run earlier than anticipated in mid-November.
Airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. following “The Blacklist,” the series debuted to 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. The most recent outing slipped to a 0.7 rating with 4 million total viewers.
The network previously gave a full season order to Monday night drama “Blindspot” from executive producer Greg Berlanti and starring Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton. The cut follows a similar move by Fox to reduce the episode order of Steven Spielberg‘s “Minority Report” from 13 episodes to 10.
