“The Masked Singer” rose with Cupcake’s elimination — but it was not enough to topple NBC’s impressive “One Chicago” lineup.

Elsewhere on broadcast, The CW premiered new seasons of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” and “Batwoman” on Wednesday night. While neither of those shows performed particularly well, “Batwoman” added 15,000 total viewers from the Season 2 premiere. These days, that’s quite an accomplishment.
Anyway, NBC was first in ratings with a 0.8 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 6.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. posted a 0.8 rating and 6.7 million total viewers. At 9, “Chicago Fire” drew a 0.8 rating and 7.1 million total viewers. “Chicago P.D.” at 10 landed a 0.7 rating and 5.9 million total viewers.
Fox was second in ratings with a 0.7 and third in total viewers with 3.3 million. “The Masked Singer” at 8 put up a 0.9 rating and 4.3 million total viewers. At 9, “Alter Ego” had a 0.4 rating and 2.3 million total viewers.
CBS was third in ratings with a 0.6 and second in total viewers with 4 million. “Survivor” at 8 earned a 0.8 rating and 5.4 million total viewers. At 9, “Tough as Nails” had a 0.4 rating and 2.9 million total viewers. “CSI: Vegas” at 10 got a 0.4 rating and 3.7 million total viewers.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.4 and in total viewers with 2.5 million. “The Goldbergs” at 8 received a 0.6 rating and 3.1 million total viewers. At 8:30, “The Wonder Years” had a 0.5 rating and 2.6 million total viewers. “The Conners” at 9 got a 0.6 rating and 3.4 million total viewers. “Home Economics” at 9:30 managed a 0.3 rating and 2 million total viewers. “A Million Little Things” at 10 closed out primetime with a 0.3 rating and 1.9 million total viewers.
The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 527,000. The “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” Season 7 premiere at 8 had a 0.1 rating and 596,000 total viewers. At 9, the “Batwoman” Season 3 premiere got a 0.1 rating and 458,000 total viewers.
