Brenton Thwaites’ Hollywood star has only just begun to rise this year after co-starring with Angelina Jolie in “Maleficent,” as well as Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep in the upcoming adaptation of “The Giver,” but he’s already debunking rumors about his love life.

The actor told “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie on Friday that it is “surreal” that people assume he is dating singer Taylor Swift, all because of one picture of them posing together at the Toronto Film Festival.

“It’s funny how long ago it was. I mean, it was like, two years ago, and it’s still coming up,” Thwaites said during the interview (above). “It just teaches me about this industry and what can happen.”

Thwaites, 24, plays teenage protagonist Jonas in director Phillip Noyce‘s adaptation of the popular young adult novel about a teenager who is chosen to learn about the pain and pleasure of reality, from which his dystopian community is shielded from by overbearing elders.
