“The Florida Project” breakout Brooklynn Prince has been tapped to star in Apple’s Hilde Lysiak drama, which will be directed and executive produced by “Crazy Rich Asians” helmer Jon M. Chu.
Inspired by the real-life story of 11-year-old Hilde Lysiak, the murder mystery series follows a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father left behind, where her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury.
The untitled drama hails from Anonymous Content and Paramount Television. It is created and executive produced by Dana Fox and Dara Resnik. Joy Gorman Wettels, Sharlene Martin and Chu also serve as executive producers.
The 8-year-old Prince had her breakout last year, starring alongside Willem Dafoe and Bria Vinaite in “The Florida Project,” from director Sean Baker.
He upcoming projects include “The One and Only Ivan,” opposite Angelina Jolie and Sam Rockwell, the animated “Angry Birds” sequel and “The Turning.”
