Kid Flash is finally coming to Central City. In “The Flash” Season 3 premiere episode, Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West will embrace his superhero alter-ego, and the first look at the iconic DC comic book character has been released.
In the photo (below), Lonsdale’s Wally is seen in a classic speed suit that’s bright yellow and red, to contrast Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash, who races in head-to-toe crimson.
Lonsdale was first introduced in Season 2 of the CW superhero drama as a long-lost brother to Iris (Candice Patton) and son to Joe (Jesse L. Martin). After much family drama and turmoil and getting to know the Central City gang, Wally inevitably got caught up in Barry’s fight with Zoom (Teddy Sears) and, in the Season 2 finale, may have been exposed to his inevitable superpowers after a power surge caused by Barry’s apparent death.
Judging by his new look for Season 3, that seems like a likely repercussion, though Barry’s decision to go back in time to save his mother and trigger the “Flashpoint” storyline from the comic books throws everything into limbo.
“The Flash” returns with its Season 3 premiere episode, titled “Flashpoint,” on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
