‘The End of the F***ing World’ Season 2 Trailer: Well, This Is a Bummer of a Wedding (Video)

Alyssa is depressed — again — and Naomi Ackie’s mysterious new character shows up to help, maybe?

Netflix dropped the trailer for Season 2 of “The End of the F***ing World” Wednesday, which featured Graham Coxon’s cover of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding.” And yes, the show used the song in pretty much the most depressing way you could possibly imagine.

In the 1-minute, 31-second video above, you’ll see an even-more-depressed-than-usual Alyssa (Jessica Barden) is getting married, though we don’t get to see to who. And she’s obviously still grieving the apparent death of her boyfriend James (Alex Lawther) at the end of Season 2. For those of you who were hoping that cliffhanger meant he could still be alive, looks like that’s not the case. And based on a telling image in the trailer of Alyssa looking at a bullet with “James” engraved on it, we’re concerned she’s now considering taking her own life.

Here’s the description for the second season, courtesy of Netflix: Alyssa is still dealing with the fallout of the events of the first series. The second series sees the introduction of the new character of Bonnie, played by BIFA-winning Naomi Ackie (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”). Bonnie is an outsider with a troubled past and a mysterious connection to Alyssa.

British writer Charlie Covell returns to write Season 2 of “The End of the F***ing World,” which is inspired by the characters from the award-winning series of comic books by Charles Forsman. Coxon will again write and perform the show’s original songs and score. British directors Lucy Forbes (“In My Skin”) and Destiny Ekaragha (“Gone Too Far”) both directed episodes of the second season.

Covell executive produces the series along with Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Dominic Buchanan and Jonathan Entwistle.

“The End of the F***ing World” is a co-production from Netflix and Channel 4. The series hails from Clerkenwell Films and Dominic Buchanan Productions.

“The End of the F***ing World” Season 2 launches Nov. 5 on Netflix, in all territories outside the U.K.
