“The Daily Show” is laying down the law for Jon Stewart, specifically when it comes to drinkware. After the late night host cut his hand on a ceramic mug on air in late February, the Comedy Central show actually scheduled a meeting about what Stewart is and is not allowed to drink out of while filming.

During the Feb. 24 episode of the show, Stewart became so enraged talking about pharmaceutical companies that he shattered his coffee mug. The bit backfired as Stewart cut his hand in the process. Stewart’s blood-covered hand could be briefly seen before he hid it under his desk for the rest of the monologue. “I’ll be going to the hospital,” he joked at the time.

“I am not allowed to have big boy mugs anymore,” Stewart told his studio audience Monday night. “There was an actual meeting of the safety department of Paramount and Viacom that was like, ‘No more ceramics for Mr. Stewart.’ They wanted to baby proof.”

Stewart began Monday night’s show by addressing his injury and holding his finger up for the camera. “As you can see, I am fully healed. This is what caused all the commotion,” he said, showing off a small healing wound on his pointer finger. He then revealed that his finger was glued back together.

“That’s what nearly brought an old man down — a tiny puncture wound that all the blood in my body went, ‘Let’s go!’” Stewart said.

So what is Stewart fake drinking out of these days? The comedian brought out a custom-made plastic mug with a sippy cup lid. Naturally, this new cup also sports the nonsensical phrase “World’s Most Dad.” Watch the full monologue above.
