ABC will air a live episode of “The Conners” during the New Hampshire primary in February, which will incorporate ABC News’ real-time coverage.

The New Hampshire primary is set for Feb. 11, and will be the first primary — the Iowa Caucus is set for Feb. 3 — to find out who will challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election in November. The cast will perform the episode live for both the east and the west coast, as results roll in throughout the night.

Here is the logline for the episode, which features guest-star Katey Sagal):

The live episode will find Mark (Ames McNamara) watching the results of the primary for a school report with Harris (Emma Kenney), who is apathetic to the electoral process and believes money’s influence in politics means real change is impossible. The rest of the Conners share their differing takes on why they all think everyone should vote, including their working-class perspective that you may have to vote for a candidate you don’t love but one that will “screw you the least.” All of this happens against the backdrop of romance when Louise (Sagal) gets an opportunity that might send her away from Lanford, prompting the family to interfere in Dan’s (John Goodman) complicated relationship with her by throwing Louise a surprise going-away party, creating major new tensions between Dan and his daughters.

Following New Hampshire and Iowa, the next primaries will be Nevada on Feb. 22 and South Carolina on Feb. 29.

“The Connors” wasn’t the only live event that ABC announced on Wednesday during the Television Critics Association Press Tour. The network is partnering with Mel Brooks on a version of his “Young Frankentstein” stage play.
