Glen picked the wrong day to take a lunch break.
In a clip from Friday’s episode of “The Blacklist,” which is exclusive to TheWrap, Red (James Spader) busts into the office of his longtime tracker, Glen Carter (Clark Middleton) when he’s mid-sandwich to ask, “Have you found them? O’Ryan Relocation Services?”
Uh, Glen was taking a quick break from that task, Red. Also, he is annoyed that this whole thing might get in the way of his planned Casino Night, so maybe…
“We’ve talked about this, there is no Casino Night. There’s nothing but me, standing right in front of you,” Red tells him.
Then, Red gets in his face and speaks some harsh truths.
“This thing we do, this whole dynamic, my indulgence of your relentless nonsense, your insipid banter, I tolerate it,” he says. “But don’t lose sight of the fact that this is a business relationship. You’re a finder. You exist to me because you find things. Are you telling me that you can’t find what I need you to find? Because if that’s the case, I will end this right now. And don’t think I won’t because we have a history. If my friend dies because of you…”
Then there is the world’s longest pause, as Glen realizes that Red might actually kill him if he doesn’t come through on this one.
