‘The Batman’ Posters Tease Robert Pattinson’s Batman and Paul Dano’s Riddler in the Full Light – of Night

The film’s new trailer debuts Saturday

It’s shaping up to be a big weekend for Batman fans. In anticipation of a new trailer for the highly anticipated reboot “The Batman” dropping during DC Fandome on Saturday, Warner Bros. has released a pair of posters for the film, each featuring one of the film’s two main characters.

Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, and he’s seen in rain-soaked silhouette in this gorgeous poster. And Paul Dano plays The Riddler, a character we haven’t seen in the movies since Jim Carrey’s goofy portrayal in 1995’s colorful “Batman Forever.” This new iteration of the iconic villain is incredibly different than Carrey’s interpretation, and is more fitting of the gritty and grounded feel of writer/director Matt Reeves’ vision for this reboot.

The story of “The Batman” brings Pattinson’s character into direct conflict with The Riddler, as he uses his detective skills to solve a series of crimes perpetrated by the masked killer. Along the way, he crosses paths with Zoe Kravitz’s burglar Catwoman and Colin Farrell’s antagonist Penguin, but The Riddler is the primary villain of the film.

These red-hued posters are visually stunning, and only further heighten the anticipation for the new film. Originally, Reeves was brought on to direct a standalone spinoff for Ben Affleck’s Batman following his debut in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” But after the messy experience of making “Justice League,” Affleck bowed out and Reeves started from scratch with a new story focusing on a much younger iteration of the character.

The cast for “The Batman” also includes Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Barry Keoghan and Jayme Lawson.

“The Batman” will be released in theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned Saturday to catch the new trailer, and check out the posters below.
