As “The Bachelor” inches closer to a potential engagement, Grant Ellis said he was meticulous in his approach to fantasy suites.
“I handle myself as if my wife would be watching this back,” Ellis told TheWrap ahead of next week’s overnight dates, where he will spend the night with Litia Garr, Zoe McGrady and Juliana Pasquarosa. “I think that I did the job.”
With overnight dates teased to bring up hesitancy in Garr, Ellis said he had no regrets about his actions during fantasy suites. “If I had to do all over again, I would do the exact same things that I did.”
While the final two women Ellis who will make it to the finale have not yet been revealed, a teaser for it sees a torn leading man, saying “I’m heading into an engagement, and I’m still trying to figure out who I’m getting engaged to.”
“All I can say is casting did a really good job with these ladies — they’re one of a kind,” Ellis said of his finale decision. “It really was difficult for me at the end, just because I had two amazing women. And at the end of the day, I went with my heart.”
Monday’s “Women Tell All” episode saw Ellis reunite with the rest of the eliminated women from his season, which he admitted was “definitely nerve-wracking.”
“We all were on the same page, and I think everybody was happy to see each other,” Ellis said, adding that seeing his exes didn’t bring up any feelings. “People have moved on, and [I was] happy to see them.”
During the “Tell All,” some of the women accused McGrady of being a different person on-camera than off-camera, which Ellis said was “a little surprising.” “I can understand maybe why they said that, because of certain circumstances Zoe has been through, she had a wall up — I read that,” Ellis said. “At the end of it, I’m just hoping that all the girls get along.”
Of course, the “Tell All” rehashed much of the season’s drama surrounding Carolina Sofia Quixano, with Ellis telling the former contestant during the episode that the growing tensions between herself and the other women was the reason why he did not want to continue moving forward with her into hometown dates.
“I spoke my part, spoke my truth and I knew she was going I knew she felt a certain way towards me, which I can understand,” Ellis said. “Maybe everybody was coming at her. Maybe she wanted to say some things to me, but I feel like I did the right thing by just owning up to everything and trying to move on.”
New episodes of “The Bachelor” Season 29 premiere Mondays and stream the next day on Hulu.
