“Teen Wolf” alum Tyler Posey will join “Jane the Virgin” for a recurring arc, The CW announced Wednesday.
Posey’s character is described as someone from Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) past, and will make his first appearance in the upcoming Season 3 finale.
Season 3 of “Jane the Virgin” shocked fans when it killed off series regular Brett Dier’s character Michael, who had just recently married Jane, and jumped ahead in time by three years.
It was such a big moment that “Jane” showrunner Jennie Urman took to Tumblr to share her thoughts and reasons behind Michael’s death.
“It was also a decision made very early on, when I thought about our story as a whole,” she said, after praising Dier’s performance. “And even in season one, I knew it would be a hard thing to actually do, which is why there was a line (which many of you noticed) about how Michael would never stop loving Jane… Honestly, I put that line into the script at the last minute to hold our feet to the fire, to make sure we went through with it. Because even back then, the writers could all see the magic of Jane and Michael together.”
The show was recently renewed for a fourth season.
Posey is best known for his starring role on MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” which will premieres the last half of its final season in the summer.
“Jane the Virgin” is currently airing its third season Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
