TCA: Mark Wahlberg Says He’ll Pay His Own Money to Make an ‘Entourage’ Movie

Creator Doug Ellin adds that Vince Chase and the gang hitting the big screen is “just a matter of when”

A feature-length version of "Entourage" might not be official yet, but as far as the show's executive producer Doug Ellin is concerned, book it — it' s done.

"We're gonna do a movie," Ellin asserted during the HBO panel at the Television Critics Association, addressing rumors of an "Entourage" feature. "We're gonna do it; it's just matter of when, how quick."

Fellow executive producer Mark Wahlberg seconded the notion, noting that the time is ripe for a big-screen "Entourage."

I said if I had to finance it myself, I would do it," Wahlberg said. "I was looking at [a promo reel] and it looks like a movie to me. It's the f***ing greatest thing I've ever seen. I certainly hope this has a chance to become a feature film. … 'The Hangover,' to me, is very much like 'Entourage,' and if you look at the success of R-rated movies this year …"

During the panel, the "Entourage" cast also talked about the emotions that they've been experiencing as they prepare to bid adieu to the show, which begins its eighth and final season on July 24.

"We're all choked up," Adrian Grenier noted. "Truthfully, we've been together for eight years, we've spent countless hours and weeks creating something that we're really proud of."

Nonetheless, Grenier noted, "We'll always be connected on some level."

"As we sit here right now, this is literally the last time we'll be sitting together as a TV show; even as we sit here it's bittersweet," added Kevin Connolly. "It's been a hell of a run and it's certainly been unique .. I don't know; I don't want to start crying …"

Maybe they can hug it out.

Luckily, Kevin Dillon was able to add some levity to the semi-somber moment. Asked what his favorite moment from the series was, Dillon noted, "I would say, shagging a squirrel in a rabbit costume."
