Taylor Swift upped her street cred Saturday night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, with a little help from her friends.
The “Bad Blood” singer got crunk with Mary J. Blige as the two performed the R&B diva’s 2001 hit “Family Affair.”
The crowd went wild as the ladies belted out the lyrics “Let’s get it crunk, we gonna have fun.” The two also teamed up on Blige’s new single “Doubt,” from her latest album “The London Sessions.” (For readers lacking street credibility, “crunk” means to crank up or get crazy drunk at a party.)
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul was one of several celebrities to join Swift on stage during the second of five sold-out shows in L.A. on Swift’s “1989” tour.
During a performance of her single “Style,” the pop princess enlisted help from male model Sean O’Pry and Hollywood stars Matt LeBlanc and Chris Rock. She also brought out “Orange Is the New Black” actress Uzo Aduba to help her sing.
But the highlight of the evening was clearly Swift’s duet with Blige, which burned up the stage as well as social media. The R&B legend even tweeted that the performance was an “amazing experience.”
