Tasha Brown was named VP of comedy, television for Chernin Entertainment on Friday.
She was most recently director of scripted development at BBC Worldwide Productions in Los Angeles.
Prior to BBC Worldwide, Brown was a staff writer on such series as "Grounded for Life," "Married to the Kellys" and "The Grubbs."
Chernin Entertainment produces both motion pictures and TV programming, including the upcoming A&E series "Breakout Kings" and Fox's "Terra Nova," which Peter Chernin and Steven Spielberg are co-producing.
Brown will report to Katherine Pope, president, television.
