SXSW’s 2012 Panels: Sex, Geeks, Douchebags and Jeffrey Tambor

Film festival reveals slate of 2012 panels and sessions, including conversation with film composer Cliff Martinez

Producers of the 2012 South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival can't tell you what movies they'll be showing yet, but they can reveal what they'll be talking about:

Film music, horror reboots, Twitter, sex, money, geeks, douchebags and politicians, to name a few.

SXSW released the first group of conference sessions Wednesday, with its 50-plus conference panels and "convergence sessions" including a conversation with "Drive" and "Contagion" film composer Cliff Martinez and an acting workshop from "Arrested Development" and "Larry Sanders" star Jeffrey Tambor.

Some of the panels were chosen via SXSW's PanelPicker, an interactive online tool that allows users to propose panels and then vote on which ones they'd like to see at the festival.

The 2012 SXSW will take place from March 9 through March 17 in Austin, Texas, and will run as part of a block with the SXSW Music Festival and the SXSW Interactive Festival.

Early registration at a discounted rate is available at www.sxsw.com/attend.
