Susan Sarandon says she’s voting for Green Party Nominee Jill Stein because the “DNC is gone.”
In an interview with CNN’s Carol Costello on Thursday, the Oscar winner, who has been a vocal critic of the North Dakota pipeline, said she “wanted to vote for somebody who in some way is concerned about the things that concerned me. And after my experience in the primaries it’s become clear to me that the DNC — and also reading emails — that the DNC is gone and we need a progressive party.”
When pressed by Costello on what she meant by that, Sarandon said that the DNC is “completely corrupt.”
Sarandon then referred to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as completely “untrustable.”
“I think we’ve been voting the lesser of two evils for too long,” she said.
Sarandon was one of Bernie Sanders’ most vocal supporters during the primary.
