‘Survivor: Redemption Island’: Matt Gets Hoodwinked

Wednesday’s episode ended with a shocker put together by — who else? — Rob Mariano

The tribe really doesn't like Matt.

On Wednesday's surprising episode of "Survivor: Redemption Island," the merged tribe — now stupidly called the Murlonio tribe, a nonsense term concocted by gleefully Machiavellian "Survivor" stud Rob Mariano — Matt was voted out at tribal council … again.

The extemely earnest, self-proclaimed Christian (pictured on the right) had returned from Redemption Island just two days before after 14 lonely days there. But now he's on his own again and forced to win more head-to-head elimination challenges (he's already won six of them) to have even a chance in the game.

The saintly dude was hornswaggled by — who else? — Rob (left), who tricked Matt into joining back up with the Ometepe alliance instead of taking the safer play of voting with the former Zapatera tribe.

For now, Matt's still in the game, and his proven ability to win challenges on what is pretty much his own private island gives him better-than-average odds that he'll remain in this for a while. At some undetermined point, the banished player will be allowed to re-join the merged tribe on the mainland.

But for now, Matt? No Murlonio for you!
