Chris Wood is staying in business with The CW, and will join the second season of “Supergirl” as a new series regular.
The “Containment” actor’s role is being kept under wraps, but is expected to be a character from the DC comic books. Melissa Benoist leads the cast of the series as Kara Zor-El, with Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood and Chyler Leigh also on board.
Wood joins fellow “Supergirl” newcomers including former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter as the President of the United States and “Teen Wolf” alum Tyler Hoechlin, who will play Superman, Supergirl’s slightly more famous cousin.
The news of Wood’s casting comes just a day after his current CW series “Containment” aired its series finale. He also previously appeared on the network’s “The Originals.”
“Supergirl” is moving to The CW for its second season after debuting on sister network CBS. Season 2 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m.
