May 2: “WALK OF SHAME” (FOCUS FEATURES) — Elizabeth Banks stars in this comedy about a news anchor who is stranded in downtown Los Angeles without money, a phone or a car and she has 12 hours to get across town to claim her dream job. Apparently, that’s really hard to do, or something.
May 9: “NEIGHBORS” (UNIVERSAL) — Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne face off against rowdy frat bros Zac Efron, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in a war for quiet in this comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”).
May 9: “CHEF” (OPEN ROAD FILMS): Jon Favreau directs and stars alongside Sofia Vergara and John Leguizamo in this comedy about a chef who loses his restaurant job and opens up a food truck instead. Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman and Scarlett Johansson also have roles.
May 9: “GOD’S POCKET” (IFC): “Mad Men” star John Slattery’s directorial debut stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as a stepfather who gets in over his head when he tries to cover up the accidental death of his stepson. Richard Jenkins, Christina Hendricks and John Turturro co-star.
May 9: “PALO ALTO” (Tribeca Film) — Gia Coppola directed this coming-of-age drama based on James Franco’s collection of short stories. Franco plays a soccer coach who crosses the line with a student, played by Emma Roberts. Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin, Chris Messina and Val Kilmer co-star.
May 9: “DEVIL’S KNOT” (IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT) — Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth star in this drama based on the real-life controversial trial of three teenagers accused of killing three children as part of a satanic ritual. Dane DeHaan, Stephen Moyer and Mireille Enos co-star.
May 16: “GODZILLA ” (WARNER BROS.) — “Monsters” director Garreth Edwards version of Japan’s most iconic (and biggest) export is the largest and most destructive yet. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnston and Elizabeth Olsen lead the cast of humans trying to survive the monster’s return.
May 16: “MILLION DOLLAR ARM” (DISNEY) — In this based-on-a-true-story sports drama, Jon Hamm plays a sports agent who stages an unconventional recruitment strategy to get talented Asian cricket players to play Major League Baseball.
May 23: “X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST” (FOX) — Bryan Singer’s return to Fox’s blockbuster franchise appears to be the best installment yet. With giant robots called Sentinels waging war on mutant kind, Wolverine goes back in time to convince the “First Class” stars to work together to prevent an apocalyptic future.
May 23: “BLENDED” (WARNER BROS.) — Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore reunite for yet another high-concept comedy with a low chance of impressing critics. The premise? Two single parents who hate each other end up in the same vacation spot and, naturally, fight to the death. Just kidding, they fall in love. Or do they? (Yeah, they do.)
May 30: “MALEFICENT” (DISNEY) — Angelina Jolie brings the “Sleeping Beauty” villain to life in the live-action fairy tale dedicated to explaining why Maleficent is such a jerk to poor, little Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning).
May 30: “A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST” (UNIVERSAL) — Seth MacFarlane directs and stars in this R-rated comedy about a cowardly farmer who asks cowgirl Charlize Theron to teach him how to shoot like a man in order to win the heart of a fair lady, played by Amanda Seyfried.
June 6: “EDGE OF TOMORROW” (WARNER BROS.) — Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are stuck in a “Groundhog Day”-like time loop, in which they must fight the same suicidal battle over and over again in order to figure out how to conquer an invading alien race.
June 6: “THE FAULT IN OUR STARS” (FOX) — “Divergent” stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort play two teenage cancer patients who fall in love in this adaptation of John Green’s New York Times best-selling tear jerker.
June 13: “22 JUMP STREET” (SONY) — After their headquarters is moved across the street, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill go undercover at a local college to bust up a dangerous drug ring.
June 13: “HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2” (FOX) — 5 years after Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless united dragons and vikings, they ride again to defend the island of Berk from an invading army. Cate Blanchett joins the star-studded cast as the voice of a mysterious dragon rider.
June 13: “THE SIGNAL” (FOCUS FEATURES) — Laurence Fishburne stars in this mysterious low-budget sci-fi thriller about college students who are quarantined after a hacker lures them into the middle of the desert.

June 20: “JERSEY BOYS” (Warner Bros.) — Clint Eastwood (“Paint Your Wagon”) directed this musical biography of the popular pop group, The Four Seasons. It’s based on the Broadway musical of the same name.
June 27: “TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION (PARAMOUNT) — Mark Wahlberg leads a cast of newcomers in Michael Bay’s next installment of the blockbuster franchise based on the Hasbro toys.
July 2: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL” (SCREEN GEMS) — NYC cop Eric Bana joins forces with an unconventional priest to combat demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city.

July 11: “DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES” (FOX) — The war James Franco accidentally started in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” continues as Ceasar (Andy Serkis) leads his primates toward a battle against surviving humans for world domination.
July 11: “BOYHOOD” (IFC) — Richard Linklater intermittently filmed this critically-acclaimed indie drama that captures the challenges of adolescence over the course of 12 years. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette co-star as the growing boy’s feuding parents.
July 18: “WISH I WAS HERE” (FOCUS) — Director Zach Braff’s Kickstarted follow-up to his indie hit “Garden State” tells the story of a thirty-something man who finds himself at major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his career, and his family. Kate Hudson, Mandy Patinkin, Josh Gad and Ashley Greene co-star.
July 18: “THE PURGE: ANARCHY” (UNIVERSAL) — Expanding on the premise introduced in the 2013 low-budget hit starring Ethan Hawke, the sequel follows a group of Los Angeles citizens trying to survive on the streets during America’s deadliest night of the year.
July 18: “JUPITER ASCENDING” (WARNER BROS.) — This original sci-fi adventure from the Wachowski Starship focuses on a genetically-engineered alien soldier (Channing Tatum) protecting a seemingly normal human (Mila Kunis) from being assassinated, because she’s actually in line to replace the Queen of the Universe.
July 25: “HERCULES” (PARAMOUNT) — Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson plays the mortal hero behind the Roman legend of Greek hero Hercules in this Brett Ratner-directed action flick.
July 25: “SEX TAPE” (SONY) — Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel star as a married couple who try to reignite their lust for each other with a sex tape, that is accidentally distributed to friends and family through Apple’s iCloud. Jake Casdan (“Bad Teacher”) directed the comedy including co-stars Rob Lowe, Rob Corddry, Jack Black and Ellie Kemper.
July 25: “STEP UP: ALL IN” (LIONSGATE) — All-stars from the dancing franchise — with the exception of its biggest star, Channing Tatum — come together for a competition in Las Vegas.
July 25: “A MOST WANTED MAN” (ROADSIDE ATTRACTIONS) — Philip Seymour Hoffman is among the cast in this promising thriller about a Chechen Muslim who gets caught in the international war on terror when he illegally immigrates to Hamburg. Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright, Willem Dafoe and Daniel Bruhl co-star.
July 25: “MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT” (SONY PICTURES CLASSICS) — Emma Stone and Colin Firth lead the cast of Woody Allen’s next romantic comedy.
Aug. 1: “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY” (MARVEL) — James Gunn directed Marvel’s next hit about a band of intergalactic outlaws led by American pilot Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), who becomes the target of a powerful villain, Ronan the Accuser, after stealing an orb. Bradley Cooper voices Rocket Raccoon — the film’s smallest, but arguably biggest attraction.

Aug. 8: “INTO THE STORM” (NEW LINE) — Professional storm chasers played by Richard Armitage and Sarah Wayne Callies, and a handful of other characters with cameras capture the full force of mother nature in this “Night of the Twisters” scenario, told through the first-person experience.
Aug. 8: “LUCY” (UNIVERSALl) — Scarlett Johansson plays a drug mule who accidentally swallows her cargo and gains superpowers in this action film from writer/director Luc Besson. Morgan Freeman co-stars.
Aug. 13: “LET’S BE COPS” (FOX) — Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. co-star as two buddies who dress up like cops and keep the charade going to get laid, and eventually end up putting their lives and fake badges on the line to fight real crime in Los Angeles.
Aug. 15: “THE EXPENDABLES 3” (LIONSGATE) — Sylvester Stallone’s action franchise returns with new mercenaries on board, including ex-con Wesley Snipes, to battle a ruthless arms dealer, played by Mel Gibson.
Aug. 15: “THE GIVER” (THE WEINSTEIN COMPANY) — Jeff Bridges portrays the titular wise man who must impart his knowledge of a futuristic, dystopian society’s past on a 16-year-old boy, played by Brenton Thwaites. Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Swift and Katie Holmes co-star.
Aug. 22: “SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR” (DIMENSION) — Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez co-directed the sequel to 2005 hit, “Sin City.” Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin are among the newcomers to the dangerous town first featured in Miller’s graphic novels.
Aug. 29: “THE LOFT” (Anonymous Content) — James Marsden, Karl Urban, Wentworth Miller and Eric Stonestreet are among the friends who share a loft for extramarital affairs, and then turn against each other when a young woman is found murdered there. Surely, it’s nothing a good ol’ fashioned dude’s night out can’t resolve.
Sept. 10: “THE GOOD LIE” (WARNER BROS.) — Reese Witherspoon is assigned to help four young Sudanese refugees relocating to the United States in this drama co-starring “House of Cards” alumni Corey Stoll.
Sept. 12: “THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU” (WARNER BROS.) — Jason Bateman and Tina Fey lead the star-studded cast of director Shawn Levy’s R-rated comedy about a Jewish family forced to sit through Shivah together for an entire week and confront their problems at the request of their dead father.
