“Suits” is getting a spinoff series, USA said Thursday.

Gina Torres will lead the project, which will focus on her character lawyer Jessica Pearson as she adjusts to Chicago politics.

We last saw Jessica in last year’s mid-season finale, when she left New York and followed her heart to Chicago. Her new journey in the Windy City will be introduced in the Season 7 finale on April 25, where she’ll rely on her smarts and relationships from Pearson Specter Litt to navigate her new city.

“It was an extraordinary pleasure working with Gina on ‘Suits’ for six years. Beyond her undeniable talent, she is an incredible partner and collaborator, and I always hoped we would work together again,” “Suits” creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh said. Korsh will executive produce and write the new drama.

The new drama comes from Universal Cable Productions (UCP). Daniel Arkin will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Torres, Doug Liman, David Bartis and Gene Klein of Hypnotic will also executive produce.

The spinoff series is USA’s second commitment to “Suits” this year. The network renewed the series for an eighth season last month and announced Katherine Heigl will join the cast as Samantha Wheeler. The cast also includes Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman and new series regular Dulé Hill.

Torres is represented by Framework Entertainment, Domain Talent, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
