‘Suits LA,’ ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ and ‘The Americas’ Debut to 15 Million Viewers

The series premieres boosted NBC to its most-watched Sunday of entertainment programming in nearly six years

The series premieres of “Suits LA,” “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” and “The Americas” broke viewership records for NBC.

The premieres on Sunday, Feb. 23 reached a combined 15 million viewers across NBC, Peacock and other platforms, according to Nielsen live-plus-three-day figures, boosting NBC to score its most-watched Sunday night of entertainment programming nearly six years.

“Suits LA,” which debuted at 9 p.m., scored 4.7 million viewers across all platforms, while “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” which debuted at 10 p.m., brought in a viewership of 3.3 million views across all platforms, according to Nielsen. Both series saw a significant lift in delayed viewing across NBC and Peacock, with “Suits LA” growing 87% in total viewers and 213% in the key broadcast demo among adults 18-49, while “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” grew 90% in total viewers and 216% in the demo.

The Tom Hanks-narrated “The Americas,” which aired across NBC, Bravo, E!, SYFY, USA and CNBC and streamed on Peacock, debuted its premiere episode to 6.7 million viewers, according to live-plus-three-day figures, ranking as the most-watched nature documentary on linear television in over 15 years.

After the 7 p.m. series premiere scored 6.7 million viewers, the 8 p.m. episode of “The Americas” brought in 6.1 million viewers, ranking as the best performance in both the 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. timeslot for an entertainment series on NBC in nearly seven years.

The premieres were also buzzy on social media, boosting NBC to be the No. 1 most-social primetime network on Sunday, per social interactions across ad-supported broadcast and cable television. Social engagements for “Suits LA” reached over 61 million over the night.

All three shows return on Sunday, March 2, with two new episodes of “The Americas” debuting at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., while “Suits LA” kicks off at 9 p.m. and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” debuts at 10 p.m.
